UAV (Drones) Inquiry Unit
In the late 1930s, the Radioplane Company developed a series of radio controlled model airplanes as aerial targets for antiaircraft gunnery training by the Army Air Corps. This article highlights the field test of one of the company’s first radio-controlled model aircraft, which was attended by both the United States Army and Navy, as well as by the engineers and employees of Reginald Denny Industries, later known as the Radioplane Company.
