Description
Model of the seating arrangement on a trireme.
The mechanical model proved that the oars on each of the three seating levels were all the same length. Made by Sinclair Morrison in 1940.
Made of wood and metal. The top deck is flat wood, glued together. Underneath are four wooden figures, each holding an oar. Below them are two more wooden figures with oars. The model is moved by a turning handle at the side.
